What is wrong with Mii? In case the caves you hide in don’t yet have a Wii and you are not yet aware: Mii-pronounced “Mee”-is something which on other games and machines is often known as an “avatar” or “toon.” On the Wii, this is called a Mii and represents each player on the Nintendo Wii Console.

Well, to answer the question in the first sentence would take entirely too long! In reality, nothing is wrong but there are some new downloadable updates on the Wii Shop Channel you may have missed.
When creating your Mii, you get to decide every feature of your face and more such as the size of your eyes, nose, smile, and so on. This may make you feel a bit like that “big bad wolf” preparing for a visit from the grandmother-visiting girl in the red hood who tends to ask too many questions! But, if you are like me, you find it rather enjoyable to peruse the extensive selection of attributes to find “just the right combination” for the perfect Mii for the situation. (more…)

Review- Big Brain Academy

Now when I think of games like Big Brain Academy I automatically think of hand held consoles. So when I started to play this game I had to think if it could stand on it’s own two feet in a static console.

Big Brain Academy

Nintendo 2007, Video Game, $23.99

I will leave it up to you to decide but today I will give you my slightly biased opinion. When I booted up the Wii system with this game I was automatically greeted in the academies hallway and it was almost pleasant to notice that my Mii Character was wandering around. Now after seeing that the available modes are limited I thought to myself that this game would be one best played with friends. If you haven’t got any then I suspect you have been playing your console a little too much. ;)

But as I go through the game I noticed that the graphics were not what you would call outstanding. But once again the Wii has managed to pull of a nice appeal with limited graphics. The graphics resemble somewhat of Wii Sports and those simplified elements worked well and in Big Brain Academy it has done the same. (more…)

Review - Wii Sports

Well, Since the dawn of time an epic battle has raged, a battle to create and perfect the ultimate physical gaming system with a simplistic design. Nintendo has captured this with the Original Wii Sports.

Wii Sports Pack

Core Gamer 2007, Video Game, $8.00

The simple concept of a control that fits into the palm of your hand works perfectly with the game. The chose of varies character profiles and alias’s (Mii) to create oneself is always a laugh and the daily fitness test keeps you coming back day after day. When i first thought of the concept of the game i knew it would have to be simplistic to work and it was. The collection of small games including tennis, baseball, bowling, golf and boxing. As i have said the games are simplified to make it enjoyable for all ages and for those looking for a realistic recreation of these modern games should look elsewhere. Varies factors that influence the sports in real life have been taken out and all that is needed is the basics. To hit a tennis ball you just swing like you were hitting the real thing. (more…)
