Super Mario Bros Wii Review

Ever since its creation decades ago, the Mario brand of games has been bringing fun and excitement to people of all ages, from all over the world. As one of the most popular video game franchises of all time, there are quite a few die-hard fans of the series out there, and this game met – and exceeded – all of their expectations. Even the harshest critics ranked this latest installment in the ever-popular series well.

The game is what you would call a “traditional” Mario game, but with some major improvements. Though the basics of the game very closely resemble the old Mario games, the graphics are much cleaner and better in general. Of course the new platform (Nintendo Wii) certainly had an effect on the quality of the graphics, but I think that this game has some of the best graphics I’ve ever seen in a Mario game. Of course you shouldn’t expect to be wowed by the graphics, but you’ve got to consider that the Wii is not really known for its graphics, but rather, its game play, which is much more important in my opinion.

Perhaps one of the greatest improvements in Super Mario Bros Wii is the implementation of motion-controlled characters. It’s much more fun to use the Wii Remote to move your character than to simple press a button. The controls are very intuitive, and usually anyone can do pretty well on this game, regardless of their experience.

Many people are hesitant to buy games like this because they think it’s “just another Mario game”, and that not much will be different. While this game is similar to previous Mario Bros games, there are some major differences that you should know about. First of all, the multiplayer on this game is much better than any previous version, at least in my opinion. You can choose to either do co-op or versus, and both game modes are a ton of fun. There are also several new power-ups to help you out in the levels. There is a lot to do in the game, and the addictive playing style makes it so it’s hard to become bored, even after hours of playing. Available at Amazon, new for $49.96
