New Wii Ware Games and Demos

Posted on 24th January 2010 by Olaf in Wii Features

For Wii owners around the world, the Wii Shop Channel is not a stranger. Most Wii fans have visited the online marketplace and almost all of them use it from time to time. Whether you have purchased a Wii Ware game before or not, you should definitely check out the marketplace and have a look around. Be sure to check back often, as new games are added on a regular basis. For instance, the below games have just recently been added, and are now available for download:

Wii 2000 Points Card

Nintendo. Nintendo 2007, Video Game, $17.98

Heron: Steam Machine
This frantic puzzle game has critics and players alike in a buzz of excitement, and often, confusion! The seemingly simple interface and puzzle-based game play are very misleading, as you will quickly figure out – this game is not an easy game to master, but it is extremely fun and well worth the 500 Wii Points.

Pub Darts
This game takes the classic game of darts and modernizes it. The controls are simple – you just move your hand as if you were throwing a dart. You can play alone or with up to 3 other people, and you can choose from normal darts, or a number of mini-games such as 501, baseball, and around the clock. The game costs 500 Wii Points in the marketplace.

Fast Draw Showdown
This old-western style shooter is very simple, but amazingly addicting. It tests not only your speed, but your accuracy and consistency. You can play against the computer, or have a friend join you and see who has faster reflexes. This game is available in the marketplace for 500 Wii Points.

The Magic Obelisk
This action-adventure game is very cartoony, but very fun. In the game, you must stay in the shadows, and you can shine your light on mysterious objects in order to solve puzzles and progress through the game. It is available for 500 Wii Points.

Try before you buy, the demos:

If you’d rather try a game before buying it, you can head over to the demos section of the Wii Shop Channel. Here, you can try a number of games. You just have to download them (0 Wii Points), and you can immediately begin to play. Here are some of the demos available now:

World of Goo
This advanced physics-based game consists of dropping goo balls to create bridges, towers, etc. While it may sound silly, World of Goo is actually very fun. If you don’t believe me, download it and try it yourself!

Pokemon Rumble
If you’ve ever played Pokemon, you know how fun and addictive it is. Well this game is no different. As you fight through hundreds of toy Pokemon throughout many unique levels, you will find it very hard to put your controller down.

NyxQuest: Kindred Spirits
This fantasy game takes you to the ruins of Ancient Greece, where you fly around looking for your lost friend Icarus. Though the controls can be a little bit awkward, this game is very fun and definitely worth a download.
