New Wii Ware Games and Demos

For Wii owners around the world, the Wii Shop Channel is not a stranger. Most Wii fans have visited the online marketplace and almost all of them use it from time to time. Whether you have purchased a Wii Ware game before or not, you should definitely check out the marketplace and have a look around. Be sure to check back often, as new games are added on a regular basis. For instance, the below games have just recently been added, and are now available for download:

Heron: Steam Machine
This frantic puzzle game has critics and players alike in a buzz of excitement, and often, confusion! The seemingly simple interface and puzzle-based game play are very misleading, as you will quickly figure out – this game is not an easy game to master, but it is extremely fun and well worth the 500 Wii Points.

Pub Darts
This game takes the classic game of darts and modernizes it. The controls are simple – you just move your hand as if you were throwing a dart. You can play alone or with up to 3 other people, and you can choose from normal darts, or a number of mini-games such as 501, baseball, and around the clock. The game costs 500 Wii Points in the marketplace. (more…)

Buy stuff for your console with Wii Points

Nintendo’s Wii Virtual Console (similar to XBOX Live Arcade or Playstation Network Store) uses an online currency known as Wii Points. Wii points are available for purchase at the Wii Shop Channel with your credit card or at your local retail outlet. Users are able to spend these points to buy additional content for the Wii Virtual Console, such as the “classic” Nintendo games that we all grew up with.

There is something to be said about being able to experience the humiliation of being defeated by an 8-bit game on a next generation system. Apparently, I no longer possess the skills that I did previously, not in the same quantity anyhow. Nintendo’s official website claims their “Virtual Console is making the greatest video game archive in history available for Wii.” Bold statement, but I can’t denounce it; I know of at least 100 games already, and more titles are being added often.

How You Can Create Funny Mii Characters…

…Share them with others and Win a Contest!

What is wrong with Mii? In case the caves you hide in don’t yet have a Wii and you are not yet aware: Mii-pronounced “Mee”-is something which on other games and machines is often known as an “avatar” or “toon.” On the Wii, this is called a Mii and represents each player on the Nintendo Wii Console.

Well, to answer the question in the first sentence would take entirely too long! In reality, nothing is wrong but there are some new downloadable updates on the Wii Shop Channel you may have missed.
When creating your Mii, you get to decide every feature of your face and more such as the size of your eyes, nose, smile, and so on. This may make you feel a bit like that “big bad wolf” preparing for a visit from the grandmother-visiting girl in the red hood who tends to ask too many questions! But, if you are like me, you find it rather enjoyable to peruse the extensive selection of attributes to find “just the right combination” for the perfect Mii for the situation. (more…)
